Rating: ★★★★★

Six of Crows is a story that pulls you in from the very first page and refuses to let go. The narrative structure—alternating perspectives for each main character—allowed me to connect deeply with each member of the crew, understanding their personal struggles, strengths, and fears. Bardugo’s writing makes you feel their victories, losses, and moments of vulnerability as if they were your own.

One of my favorite features is the maps and illustrations at the beginning of the book, giving a visual sense of Ketterdam, the gang’s hideouts, and the city’s layout. This added an extra layer of immersion, making the heist and strategy scenes even more thrilling. Matthias stood out to me as a character who is fiercely loyal and conflicted, while Kaz has that intimidating, unshakable exterior hiding depth and vulnerability. The way these characters develop individually and as a team is captivating.

The plot is full of twists, but the real joy comes from watching the characters grow from self-preservation to mutual trust and care. It’s a book that makes you think about friendship, loyalty, and the blurred line between right and wrong.

I would definitely recommend this book to moms and readers who love fantasy, thrilling heists, and character-driven stories. The combination of suspense, rich world-building, and immersive illustrations makes it unforgettable.
